Oh, LBI weather…you know how to make me nervous All day, gloomy gray clouds were rolling in over the bay, and yet it only drizzled for a grand total of about five minutes. And I was beyond happy about that, because that meant we ended up with a perfect beach day — a beautiful oceanfront ceremony in Beach Haven, soft lighting and dramatic clouds for portraits on the beach, and a gorgeous garden reception at the Gables. (Where, it needs to be said, I ate a tomato-mozzarella salad that goes down as the best one I’ve ever had.)
And to top it off, Doug and Liz are a perfect couple. Not sure I ever had to tell them to relax or smile or get cozy, because they were just so…well…relaxed and happy and cozy. It’s pretty easy to see in the photos how much fun they’re having together. With that said….no one reads this blog for my rambling, so let’s get to the photos!
Meanwhile, my trusty second photographer Kelly was hanging out with Doug and his best man, Luke…
Doug and Liz opted to do a first look, which I always love…
…and then it was time to make it official!
A big shout-out to the Pickles, who led the kids in a spirited (a.k.a. violently competitive) game of musical chairs.
Thanks for inviting me to photograph your wedding, Doug and Liz!
