I shot my niece and her friends before they headed off for the Lenape High School prom this year. It was fun to ogle all the sparkly dresses — seriously, why aren’t there more opportunities for glam gowns in real life?
For the inset image, by the way, I told her to “do the Stefan pose” — any other SNL fans know what I’m talking about?

This blog post has been a long time coming. Baby Cayden has already made two “hidden” appearances on my site — Becky was a little bit pregnant at her holiday session and a lot bit pregnant at her maternity session. And finally, her little dude is here!
Now, most photographers will agree that “newborn mini-session” is kind of an oxymoron — newborns tend to take awhile and need lots of lunch breaks and snuggle breaks and pacifier breaksBut that’s exactly what we did! Becky is one of my oldest friends and we just wanted to squeeze in a few baby-announcement photos in the 20 minutes between our yummy brunch (cooked by her ex-chef hubby) and our kids’ naptime (a.k.a. meltdown-time). Luckily, Cayden couldn’t have been more cooperative! And he has beee-yootiful blue eyes.
If you take away the helping hands, this is known as “The Pose” among newborn photographers. And it’s adorable. But Cayden wasn’t too thrilled with the idea, and I’m not one to force a pose (never mess with a happy, calm baby!) But when I was going through my images, I realized that I actually love this “outtake” because it reminds me of how much newborns rely on their moms and dads for support!

Reason #19283 why I love my job: Last weekend I got to do a maternity session in one of my favorite places (Long Beach Island) with two of my favorite people (Cody and Ceiara). This shoot was extra-fun for me, because the bump is my future…umm…great-nephew? Grand-nephew? (Okay, just googled it, and apparently both terms are correct. Let’s go with great-nephew.)
Anyway, I can’t wait to meet baby Brody, and if his parents are any indication, I think it’s safe to say he’ll be pretty cute.
I’ve been waiting for Baby T’s arrival since August…his mom is one of my old college roomies! (Go Rutgers!) In college she had moons and stars all over her room, so I had to get a shot with her little man’s starry swaddler. Here are a few favorites.
