Winter Wedding on LBI {Long Beach Island Wedding Photography}

I did a photo session with Angela’s family last year, and they were so much fun — up for anything, even as we were literally outrunning a blizzard. So when she asked me to shoot her wedding on LBI this winter, of course I jumped at the chance.

Now, I know I tend to go a little overboard with photos in my wedding posts, but I’m going to try to control myself this time.

Just kidding. I went overboard.

Angela and her girls got ready in Ship Bottom. I love the shots of her getting laced into her dress — it takes a village to tie up a wedding gown!

The finished product. Not too shabby, huh?

A few blocks away, the guys were getting ready at the Drifting Sands. You want to talk about wedding-day stress? Michael had to fly in the day of the wedding, and his flight was scheduled to land at 11:00. In Philly. For a 2:00 wedding. Luckily, everything went smoothly and he had plenty of time to get ready…and hone his “Blue Steel” look.

Then it was off to the main event! Angela and Michael were married at St. Francis of Assisi in Brant Beach, which is the best place in the world to get married, and their officiant was Father Kevin Daly, who is the best wedding officiant ever, not that I’m biased.

Then it was picture time! We had to get a shot in front of the quintessential LBI cedar shakes…

…before heading onto the beach. When you look at these photos, I want you to realize it was about 38 degrees out. Notice the strapless tea dresses. Notice the bare feet. They were freezing, but they hung in there without complaining and only required one thaw-out break in the limo. And when they were on, they were ON. I think they’ve all had some practice in front of the camera:)So we got a ton of fun photos. And how pretty is that sky?

Michael and his best man decided to try their hand at posing. This is their masterpiece.

We got some shots of the happy couple…

…and then we headed to the Brant Beach Yacht Club to enjoy the reception (and the umbrella heaters).

(Not the choreographed Bieber dance, above. Did I mention it was a fun crowd?)

Thanks for letting me shoot your wedding, Angela and Michael! Can’t wait for you to see the rest of the photos!:)

Amazing! Brought tears to my eyes seeing how happy this lovely couple is, and I don’t even know them. I hope they blow that last one up on a nice big canvas and cherish it forever!!!

Maybe if I can fit in my wedding dress one day we can plan something Kara:)

What beautiful wedding photographs. The couple is beautiful. I love the use of pine cones in their wedding decor – it is wonderful that they hired a great photographer to perfectly capture all of these little details so well. (Not to mention their gorgeous faces.) The “quintessential LBI cedar shakes” photo…. I can imagine them showing this to their great grandchildren someday. :)
