Woohooooo Summer {LBI Family Photographer}

This shoot was extra-fun for two reasons:

1) Sara
2) Luke

Sara and Luke are my cousins, and they wanted to do a sibling session on Long Beach Island as a (slightly belated) Mother’s Day gift to their mom. And since our family has been hanging out on LBI for 20-some years together, their favorite spots are my favorite spots.

We started out at the original Ron Jon’s surf shop (sorry, Farias fanatics!) for some beachy-bright images…

Next, we headed to the beach at Ship Bottom! And seriously, they killed the jump shot. I’m giving them a gold star for this one!

Then it was off to Flamingo Golf in Ship Bottom. We made a pact not to discuss the final scores of this game. Suffice to say they were an embarrassment to our family name. But at least we got some cute photos, and got to drown our sorrows in free lollipops at the end.:)

These images involved absolutely no trespassing at all. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

And finally, we did some fun photobooth-style shots at the warehouse behind Ron Jon’s. Sara and Luke have a lot of stellar poses in their repertoire! Seriously — I love how much personality they brought to the shoot.

Thanks guys! Hope you had fun with your paparazzi cousin:)

Pretty in Pink {Voorhees NJ Newborn Photographer}

I first met Ashlynn’s mom at a picnic, when I (over-excitedly?) pointed out that we had the same stroller and the same diaper bag. What can I say? I get really attached to my baby goods. You know how motorcyclists wave to each other? Whenever I see someone with my stroller, I kind of want to give them a high five. (Baby Jogger, by the way — totally recommended!)

Anyway. It seems like everyone I know has been having boys lately — I’ve got two of my own! — and in fact, it’s been months since I’ve had a session with a newborn baby girl! Luckily, Ashlynn was a total girlie-girl, so I got to put my pink flower headband, backdrop, and blanket to use! Her mama even provided the big, bright pink-and-purple flower in the first set of images. Love it!

Big brother Connor was feeling pretty yucky that day, but he was a total trooper, posing for some solo shots and snuggling with his new sister…you’d never know he was under the weather, because he was so sweet!

Nothing better than mommy-baby hugs…

Great meeting you, Ashlynn and Connor!

Making a Splash {Medford Lakes Photographer}

Leeland is an old pro, since he’s been basically been in front of my camera since he was a few weeks old. (And he’s my neighbor, so I torture photograph him off the clock, too.) This session was to celebrate him hitting the 18-month mark. We decided to stay local and splash around in the lakes a little…

I caught his brother and sister peeking out the window — they wanted in on the action!

Love his expression in the bottom right photo:

Thanks Leeland!:)

Bright and Vivid {I Heart Faces Photo Challenge}

I’m having fun with these photo challenges at I Heart Faces, because they give me an excuse to share some of my favorite shots, like this one from this past weekend! Sara and Luke did a sibling session at the Jersey shore as a belated Mother’s Day present. Our session started at the original Ron Jon’s surf shop on Long Beach Island — I love the bright colors and the woody wagon because they remind me of LBI — bright, fun, colorful, and a little bit old-school.

All Sunshine and Rainbows {Philly Wedding Photography}

Tallulah and Drew were an awesome couple to work with — it was obvious they were head over heels for each other, which made it easy to get genuine smiles and huge laughs from them. Before I get to the photos, here’s a quick rundown of the day:

Getting ready: Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing
Ceremony: St. Vladmir’s Ukranian Orthodox Cathedral
Portraits: Rittenhouse Square
Reception: Moshulu

Between the ceremony in north Philly and the reception on the waterfront, we made a quick stop at the gorgeous Rittenhouse Square to shoot some portraits (and attract some stares).

I know some people (especially fans of certain opposing sports teams!) get a laugh from Philly’s new slogan, “the city that loves you back.” But it’s so true! As soon as people in the park caught sight of us, Tallulah and Drew were surrounded by a flock of wide-eyed kids, and offered sodas from some groomsmen headed to another wedding nearby. And my fabulous second shooter Cara convinced a group of busking musicians to play a sweet song for the bride and groom to dance to. This is why I love Philly…

Okay, back to the portraits!

The reception was on the Moshulu, which is an amazing tall ship on the riverfront…

After a super-sunny morning, the sky threatened to open up all afternoon, but waited until seconds after Tallulah and Drew walked into the reception. The rain stopped pretty quickly, but Cara and I were joking that the clouds were ruining the sunset. We had to eat our words a few minutes later when this rainbow appeared across the river!

I love a proper cake smash…

So glad I could be a part of this fun wedding! Tallulah and Drew, can’t wait for you to see the rest of your photos!
