Beach Baby in the Making! {LBI Maternity Photos}

Reason #19283 why I love my job: Last weekend I got to do a maternity session in one of my favorite places (Long Beach Island) with two of my favorite people (Cody and Ceiara). This shoot was extra-fun for me, because the bump is my future…umm…great-nephew? Grand-nephew? (Okay, just googled it, and apparently both terms are correct. Let’s go with great-nephew.)

Anyway, I can’t wait to meet baby Brody, and if his parents are any indication, I think it’s safe to say he’ll be pretty cute.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun {South Jersey Photography Studio}

I kind of can’t believe this is the first time I’ve met Ruby and Josie — I’ve known their mom for years and years, ever since we worked together at Twist magazine. But I’ve been following their cuteness on Facebook, and I was so excited to have them come in for a session, especially since they drove all the way up from Maryland! These two are a hoot — so much fun, loads of LOLs, and fabulous fashion sense. Love it.

Double the Fun! {Medford Newborn Photographer}

I’ve been itching to get twins into the studio, so I was psyched to meet four-week-old Ryan and Alex! I was a little worried that shooting twins would be twice the work, but these two were as good as gold. They’re definitely feisty — they kept wiggling out of their poses — but they barely made a peep the entire time. Check out this adorable duo…

Thanks for coming in, guys!

Cuter-than-Average School Photos! {South Jersey Preschool Portraits}

Am I the only one who was traumatized by “picture day” in school? One click, and no matter what the photo looked like, it would be immortalized in the yearbook forever. My seventh grade photo was so bad that I entered it in a “beauty nightmares” photo contest — part of a promotion for the movie Death Becomes Her. I didn’t even have a good story to go with it. I just sent the picture, like, “Here ya go!” And guess what? I placed second to a woman who got chicken pox on her wedding day. It was that bad. (But I got to go to an early screening of Death Becomes Her, woohoo!)

Anyway. Needless to say I’m not a huge fan of the blue background and the assembly-line style of shooting. So I recently held a preschool mini-session as part of a promotion to get my name out to local preschools. And not surprisingly, it was cuteness overload. Here are some of my favorite images from the day. It was so hard to choose!

If there were Baby GQ magazine, Brayden would totally be on the cover. How cool is his tie?

Sofia needs a frequent Kiwi-er card. This was her third shoot with me so she’s like an old pro.

It was easy to get James to smile — he’d just gotten back from riding a real train and was still on a Thomas-the-Tank-Engine high.

Lily was the star of one of my favorite shows, Full House. Ok, not really, but doesn’t she look like Mary-Kate (or maybe Ashley) Olsen way back when? Her mom says she gets that all the time.

Mikey was a little skeptical of me, but he warmed up eventually! I don’t know if Santa follows my blog, but FYI, he’s in the market for a Pillow Pet panda.

Stella is so cute and has so much ‘tude in her poses. She was smiling in every…single…frame. Someone get this girl an agent!

Wish there were more personality in your kids’ preschool portraits? You know the drill…call, email, or drop a line through the “contact” link above.

Holiday Mini-Sessions: We Have a Winner!

Okay, so I’m about 21 hours late in drawing the winner. I was out enjoying the awesome weather today — first the Kirby’s Mill Apple Festival, then a pumpkin-picking party at Indian Acres Tree Farm, and finally Panda Garden takeout. But I finally got a minute to put all the entries into my very official Tinkerbell mug. And the winner is….

Susan Thornton! Call or email to set up your free mini-session digital package on the 24th! And many thanks to everyone who linked me on Facebook. Hope to see some of you at the mini-sessions, too. Only two weeks away, so BOOK NOW!
