Lauren + Drew | Longwood Gardens Engagement Session | South Jersey Wedding Photographer

My first thought when I pulled Lauren and Drew’s images off my camera was: I have the best…job…EVER. We shot their engagement session at Longwood Gardens, which is basically my happy place. Every few feet, we found another amazing little pocket of awesomeness. I think Lauren and Drew had to hear me say, “OMGAAAHHHH this place is gorgeous!” about four thousand times over the course of an hour. But their personalities are what really made it work — I’m pretty sure I could’ve done the entire session in front of a brick wall and still been happy. I don’t think there was a single frame where they weren’t smiling (or laughing hysterically).

Also, they can jump freakishly high, but that’s another story.

I’ve known Amanda since middle school. We bonded over being awesome.

Or maybe we were in marching band together — I don’t know, the details are hazy. Let’s go with “being awesome.” Here’s proof:

Anyway, Amanda moved to Georgia partway through high school, but we’ve reconnected via Facebooking about our mutual Disney obsession. Last year she asked for recommendations for Georgia wedding photographers. “Since Tybee Island is out of your zone,” she joked. Except that hubby and I happened to be in the early stages of planning a vacation to Tybee — early enough to line it up with Amanda’s wedding date. Woohoo! And I managed to convince one of my photografriends, Natalie from N Harris Photography, to drive down from North Carolina to assist. Woohooooo! It was so fun to see old friends, and to shoot at the adorable Tybee Island Wedding Chapel, and to spend a week eating my weight in shrimp and crabcakes. Here are a few favorites from Amanda and Buck’s big day…

Mary + Gregg + baby-to-be | South Jersey Maternity Session

I’ve known Mary since the pre-K era, and we were even roommates during freshman year of college, so I already knew she was NOT camera-shy Sure enough, as I mentioned on my Facebook page, she showed up in wedge heels that I’m not sure I could navigate on my best day, and went tromping into the woods with me despite being 33 weeks pregnant. (Hey, there was some perfect light coming through the trees. We HAD to.) And Gregg was an awesome sport while we dragged him all over the farmstead. Here are a few of my favorites…

For the foreseeable future, I’m letting up to five friends split the normal cost of a two-hour session with high-res files on disc ($750).

Two friends, that’s $375 each (a bargain!).
Three friends, that’s $250 each (a steal!).
Five friends, that’s just $150 each (highway robbery!)

Four friends would be $187.50 each. Kind of a weird number, but that’s okay too.

I love when I get to run into old friend on the job — I went to high school with CJ’s mom, and it was great meeting her growing family! Not gonna lie, CJ was pretty much a dream baby. If he wasn’t sleeping, he was making hilarious Blue Steel expressions. Here are a few favorites from our session!

I like the way Dylan’s mom thinks — she emailed me back in June to book her newborn session! Dylan is a little Houdini — I consider myself a swaddling champion, but he managed to bust out of every wrap I did. His parents are big Phillies fans, so I think maybe he was just practicing his seventh-inning stretch Here are my faves of this adorable little dude…

Heather + Chris | South Jersey Wedding Photography | Heritage Station, Mullica Hill, NJ Engagement Session

I’ve known Heather for more than 20 years, but hadn’t actually seen her in about 12 years when we met up at Heritage Station Vineyards & Winery in Mullica Hill. We lucked out with a sunny, 50-degree day in February — but we WEREN’T expecting the 50mph wind gusts! Yikes! But Heather and her hubby-to-be Chris braved the freezing wind and barely complained as I dragged them all over the vineyards saying things like, “Okay, stand in this tree…trust me!” I love the images we captured, and the gorgeous blazing-red sunset made it all worth it!

They brought their pup Riley along and he actually smiled for a few photos…but then he decided to abandon his modeling career and investigate some chickens lurking nearby

P.S. You know it’s love when an Eagles fan lets the Terrible Towel make a cameo in her engagement pics…

Catching up on blogging again! This was one of my favorites shoots last year. Kristen is formerly a member of the local band Short Lived Affair, who I shot just before they played Bamboozle in 2011. This time around, her mom asked me to do some senior portraits of Kristen with her guitar to honor her love of music. I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot — one of my favorite spots in Philly, the Magic Gardens. If you haven’t been there, it absolutely lives up to its name. What Isaiah Zagar did with the space — and what the community did to protect it — is just an awesome story.

I can’t even begin to describe it and do it justice, so here are the photos.

P.S. It’s my dream to shoot a wedding here. I’m just throwing out those vibes into the world in case someone wants to make it happen

Christina + Brian | Valenzano Winery Engagement Session | South Jersey Wedding Photography

I loved this engagement session from start to finish — how the heck did I forget to blog it? We shot at two of my favorite local spots — the gorgeous Valenzano Winery in Shamong, and my own stomping grounds in Medford Lakes. And Christina brought a truckful (literally) of fun photo props. She was full of creative ideas — can’t wait to see what she has in store for her wedding this summer!
